AJFC Officials and Managers Code of Conduct
In registering to act as a Team Manager (“Manager”) with Abbotsford Junior Football Club (“the Club”), I agree to comply with this Code of Conduct.
I understand that any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in sanctions being imposed upon me by Abbotsford Junior Football Club. At the discretion of the Club, these may include:
1. A verbal or written warning
2. Removal from the technical area and/or from the field or stadium
3, A fine or suspension imposed by the Club
4. A fine or suspension imposed by the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association (“CDSFA”)
5.Cancellation of your registration as a Manager with the Club
6. Rejection of your registration as a Manager with the Club for any future season
7. Loss of membership of the Club
8. And/or legal proceedings
As Manager and member of a team with Abbotsford Juniors Football Club I agree to:
9. Always abide by the rules and regulations of the Club and CDSFA and teach your players to do the same
10. Always act in accordance with the Club’s Core Values
11. Cooperate with my team members, coaches, opponents and officials
12. Never argue with an official. Where I disagree with a decision, I will remember that officials, like managers can make mistakes
13. Control my temper. Verbal abuse, sledging, deliberately distracting or provoking officials, players, coaches, managers or any other participant in the sport are not acceptable behaviour. Encourage all members of the team to do the same.
14. Not ridicule, bully or take unfair advantage of a player, coach or official
15. Not arrive at the field intoxicated or under the influence of illicit substances
16. Not consume alcohol or illicit substances at junior and youth matches
17. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the game regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion
As Manager and member of a junior or youth team with Abbotsford Juniors Football Club, I also agree to:
18. Take responsibility for the behaviour and actions of my team including my coach and parents when representing the Club, both on and off the pitch
19. Ensure that the time players spend with me is a positive experience. I understand that all players are deserving of equal attention and opportunity
20. Ensure that equipment and facilities the team use, meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of the team’s players
